‘Cream of the Crop’ Chainbow Named 2008 Block Manager Of The Year - Nov 2008
Leading residential property management company, Chainbow, has received the prestigious 2008 Block Manager of the Year Award at the annual, gala Negotiator Awards held at the London Hilton on Park Lane on Tuesday 11 November, 2008.
More than 450 property professionals attended the ceremony to witness Chainbow take home its highly coveted accolade from one of 18 award categories.
The award win was a significant achievement for the company as it has only operated in the residential sector since 2006, making it one of the youngest firms competing for the award.
Chainbow Chairman Roger Southam has credited the award win to the company’s transparency, accountability and ability to take onboard both leaseholders and freeholders’ needs.
Mr Southam explained, “When people think about managing agents, they often have a connotation with a bad experience or feeling of being ripped off which is largely due to the fact that the industry is predominately unregulated. Chainbow is striving to change people’s perceptions by being more communicative, helping to negotiate building insurance premiums down, posting monthly accounts and reports on a private client website so they are accessible 24/7, being proactive and by working quickly and efficiently to resolve building problems. Receiving the 2008 Block Manager of the Year Award is icing on the cake for us because it shows the property industry appreciates our vision to change the way managing agents operate to the benefit of leaseholders and freeholders alike. It will be one Remembrance Day Chainbow will remember for a long time.”
Other managing agents vying for the 2008 Block Manager of the Year Award included Bridgeford & Co, Chelton Brown, Encore Estate Management, Hulford Salvi Carr Property Management, Peveral OM. The award ceremony was hosted by TV comedian Rory Bremner.
For the past 24 months, Chainbow has lobbied the Government for better regulation of the property management industry. Chainbow advocates licensing of managing agents in order to fine operators should they be found to mislead leaseholders and freeholders.
Chainbow was founded by Roger Southam in 1989 and specialises in residential property management on behalf of owners, freeholders and developers. Chainbow aims to provide real value for money for its customers as well as changing their perceptions of property management. Chainbow does this through the provision of a clear charter aimed at setting out its values and promises to leaseholders, as well as an annual customer satisfaction survey intended to benchmark progress and identify areas for improvement.
Chainbow currently manages over 40 sites with 3,800 leaseholders across Greater London and intends to become the provider of choice for property management and consultancy services in London.
