EC Harris
Since 1997 Roger Southam has acted as consultant to EC Harris providing Estates management services for them to Her Majesty’s Court Service in the Midlands region. Saira Ahmed joined in 2004 to work with Roger and ensure the service required by the client was met. Over this time significant savings have been achieved on the portfolio of Crown and County Courts as well as innovative strategic solutions to difficult problems. Examples have seen disposing of surplus accommodation by subletting until break dates in a lease and then facilitating the landlord entering a direct lease with the sub tenant to avoid dilapidations.
Negotiating renewal of leases early to gain maximum advantage of the Government covenant and getting flexible terms to meet operational needs.
The portfolio expanded in 2005 to incorporate the Magistrates Court, previously the responsibility of the County Councils.
