Logans Challenge

After the 3 peaks challenge, a military run and a 5km run dressed as Santa last year the Chainbow staff their daring friends have been at it again! This time they took part in the Kenny Logan Challenge, testing their mind, strength, speed and endurance on a beautiful course in Black Park Country Park, Bucks.

We entered a girl’s team and boy’s team who went head to head against each other, several other companies and celebrities on the chase team challenge. This challenge includes two team members doing a 15km bike ride while the other two tackle a 5km run, the team splitting again to take part in mind and skill tests followed by the whole team doing a mini assault course.

Competition was fierce, while the girls did a warm up with their personal trainer the boys ate snacks safe in the knowledge they had the edge… The bike riders had a 15km course and they didn't quite match the pace of James Cracknell (which they secretly thought they could!), however they all finished with impressive times.

The runners were not so lucky, they were ready for the 5km run which was advertised and headed in completely unaware of the last minute change which increased the course to 7km. After a few bad stitches and some determination they all made it round to their cyclist friends who were wondering why 5km had taken them so long... I wonder why they wanted to cycle!

After the run and ride the skill and mind challenges were a bit more tricky than first anticipated however this did not phase the Chainbow teams, who scored very highly. The boys team got the highest skill score in the chase category. For a bit of fun at the end there was a mini assault course including some monkey bars and a cargo net and then it was over the line and a little wait for the results…

The boys team came in 2nd overall and the girls 11th! What an achievement!

Most importantly all our fun at this event helped us raise over £1,200 for Sparks which added to the other events Chainbow has done in the last year takes our total raised to nearly £32k!
