Santa Run
Just over a month after the military run Pauline, Roger and Neil were ready to run again now with more troops our Client Accounts Manager Chris and his girlfriend Helen. This time it was another 5km run around Greenwich park, dressed as Santa Claus. It was not such an early start this time but probably colder, Chris and Neil had been to a stag do the night before and were not quite sure how they had got out of bed and made it to the race. The Santa suits were soon on and it was time for another military style warm up, this time it was a lot gentler. After doing the military run Pauline, Roger and Neil thought they were pro athletes and got up to the front of the start line, Chris and Helen took a more relaxed approach in the middle of the pack.
We were soon off and enjoying the look on peoples faces as 100s of Santa’s came running past. Pauline, Roger and Neil did not keep up with the front runners but did keep with the middle of the pack. Neil finished in 35 minutes Roger was 5 mins behind and Pauline 5 mins behind him. We then stood waiting wondering what had happened to Chris and Helen. 20 mins later we saw Chris in the distance carrying Helen, it turned out she had hurt her knee in the early stages and Chris had carried her around the whole course. A brilliant effort by all and another £485 raised for Sparks.
